About Us

How We Help

For over 65 years our programs and services have provided shelter, food, addiction support, and compassionate care.

Since we began caring for our community in 1956 we have added many more programs with various supports to meet the ever-changing needs of our community. Learn more about how our programs help and how you can support their joint mission of restoring hope and empowering people to find their way forward.

Shelter Services

Our shelters provide spaces where those experiencing homelessness or abuse can find not only supports for their basic needs, but compassionate wrap-around supports to help meet them where they are at.

Basic shelter services offered are beds, meals, showers, and laundry. Each of our shelters offers additional supports to residents that help meet their other needs such as Harm Reduction Workers, housing supports, mental health help, and more.

Housing Supports

We believe housing is a human right, and strive to ensure our programs reflect that belief. That is why we try to incorporate housing supports into every program we offer.

In addition to our shelters, our Addiction Services and Willow’s Place programs also provide housing supports. All of our Addiction Services programs offer housing support for male-identifying individuals in recovery who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. At Willow’s Place, Systems Navigators help participants become housing ready, and help those housed maintain their housing status.

Emergency Food Assistance

We often say hope starts with a meal. We believe that access to good, healthy food is vital for health and wellbeing which is why we offer many supports to help our community access it.

In addition to meals at our shelters, we provide year-round after-school and camp meals to youth in our community, and three meals a day to those accessing Willow’s Place. We also have two food bank programs that ensure our neighbours can have healthy groceries to feed their families.

Addiction Services

Addiction affects our friends, coworkers, family, loved ones, and communities. It can be one of the hardest things a person will do, and when combined with unemployment, poverty, or homelessness, recovery can feel next to impossible.

But recovery is possible! Mission Services’ caring, professional staff help men and women rebuild their lives by supporting each person along a continuum of care. Our Addictions Programs offer support with housing needs, employment goals, and strengthening social or family relationships – all with the aim of finding a path to recovery with confidence and dignity.

Drop-in Programs

Low-barrier access to supports is essential for meeting our participants where they’re at and ensuring dignity in accessing these services.
Many of our programs allow for drop-in style support such as our Emergency Food Assistance programs, and Willow’s Place.

Willow’s Place is a low-barrier space for all women, trans-, and non-binary people that offers access to laundry, shower facilities, a safer place to rest, meals, and harm reduction supplies.
