Violence Against Women’s Services – Inasmuch House – LEAF Group Facilitator
Full-Time, Permanent
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Learning Effective Anti-Violence in Families (LEAF) Group Facilitator will plan and facilitate various therapeutic programs for children who have witnessed family violence, in both group and one-on-one settings. The LEAF Group Facilitator will provide service from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma informed, and intersectional feminist framework, respecting each individual’s self-determination and personal decision-making.

Violence Against Women’s Services – Child and Youth Support Worker (Canada Summer Jobs Position)
8-Week Contract
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and implementation of a recreational summer program for children and youth living in the shelter
- Plan and assist in the facilitation of recreational activities to suit the needs of the program; this includes ongoing assistance with the children’s playroom
- Assist in providing support and advocacy to children and youth in the shelter
- Assist employees in the daily maintenance of the program; this may include cleaning the playroom, providing childcare while guardians attend meetings, and identifying maintenance and security needs

Violence Against Women’s Services – Women’s Shelter Program Coordinator (Canada Summer Jobs Position)
8-Week Contract
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer and direct telephone calls, including responding to the crisis lines if necessary
- Assist with telephone assessments, safety planning and risk management
- Assist with formal and informal resident engagement opportunities, including group facilitation and recreational activities
- Assist employees in the daily maintenance of the program; this may include, but is not limited to, such things as cleaning within the house, completing room turnover, and identifying maintenance and security needs

Community Services and Outreach – Client Advocate
Part-Time, Permanent
Position Summary
The Client Advocate will provide feminist, trauma-informed, compassionate, low barrier and innovative supports. Client Advocates will assist women, transgender and non-binary individuals whom predominantly have high acuity mental health and addictions, with meeting their basic needs. This includes access to food, showers, laundry facilities and a safe place to rest. The Client Advocate will support individual goals and plans including making referrals to appropriate community agencies/supports. The Client Advocate will assess the safety of the individuals they support and work with them to create personal safety plans as required. The Client Advocate will also provide support with developing coping strategies and education on harm reductions strategies and any other self-identified goals. The Client Advocate will prevent, manage and defuse any behavioural issues that may arise in the space, and encourage a caring, healthy, safe and positive work environment for both peers and service users.
