Three women sit around a table with a laptop on it. Two of them are smiling; the third is facing away from the camera.

Senorita’s Code offers life skills in addition to addictions and mental health support in a fun, interactive way.

The group was started due to a need identified by staff – there were no open, drop-in programs in Hamilton for women that offered addictions and healthy living support. Participating in an addictions support group is also needed to fulfill court requirements for Drug Treatment Court, one of Mission Services’ Alternative Justice programs.

Since beginning the group in 2017, participant numbers have increased. Because it’s an open drop-in, women from many different backgrounds attend the group, making for a dynamic environment and community of women who support one another.

Many previous participants have shown excitement and anticipation for attending the group again in 2019!

I needed this group because it related to some things I was going through at the time. It was constructive, useful, and supportive.

I want to say thank you to everyone for helping me with my issues, addictions, and struggles.

I appreciated the help, support, and how understanding the staff are.
