March 20: Pandemic Statement

As we continue to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19, we want to assure you that Mission Services is taking every step to ensure the safety of our staff, clients, and volunteers as we continue to provide food, shelter, and support to those in need. We are working closely with Public Health and the City of Hamilton, and continue to update our health and safety procedures as recommended.

Shelters and emergency food assistance services are always essential services. At all times, everyone deserves safe, affordable housing and healthy food. Now more than ever we need the support of our community, our governments, and our elected representatives to ensure that no one is left behind.

We want to express our gratitude to the staff and volunteers who continue to provide care and support to our clients, to the agencies and organizations across the city who are similarly committed to this work, and to the healthcare professionals tirelessly working to keep everyone safe.

If you are looking for ways to support our community members in accessing emergency food and shelter, please consider donating.

We urge everyone to take care of themselves and their community. Wash your hands, check in on your neighbours, practice social distancing, and donate to organizations who are helping those who need the most assistance.

We will continue to provide updates about our programming and planning.
