“I’d never even seen a shelter before, much less stayed in one,” Liz said. “But from the first day that I arrived here, they supported me like I never expected.”
And standing on the sidewalk that day, she faced the possibility of spending the night on the street.
“I had been given some phone numbers to call, but that was it,” Sandy said. “I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what my next move was. Thankfully, Mission Services was the first number on that list.”
“Even the bad things can lead up to blessings. It has really changed my perception of homelessness and shelters. If I had gone to another shelter, I would not have caught the goodness of this place.”
When Andrew came to our Men’s Shelter, he just needed a few more tools before he could reach housing. Staff came alongside him to help him reach those goals and find his way forward.

“If children are having to wonder where their next meal is going to come from, they can’t focus on other things, like school, extracurriculars, or even just being a kid.”
