  • We provide safe, temporary accommodations and services to women, youth and children.
  • We provide a positive, healing environment in which each individual, regardless of ability, age, race, culture, religion, sexual orientation, financial or educational status, will have the opportunity to realize their potential, rights and resources available.
  • We provide education in our community on abuse prevention and work in partnership with other community services to put policies and procedures in place that more effectively support and protect women, youth and children exposed to abuse.

OUR SERVICES:

  • Safe accommodation for 37 residents including prepared meals, clothing, laundry facilities and personal needs
  • Individual and group support for women and children
  • Safety planning
  • 24 hour confidential support on the crisis line
  • Information and referrals to supportive services in the community
  • Monthly on-site Duty Counsel for legal information
  • Emergency transportation to the shelter
  • Translation services
  • Chaplain services
  • Community presentations available on issues related to violence against women
  • Volunteer opportunities

If you or someone you know is being abused or if you need someone to talk to, there is support available.

  • Call our Crisis Line - anytime, day or night 905-529-8600
  • Ask to speak with our transitional Support Worker who meets with women in the shelter or in the community.
  • Ask about our LEAF (Learning Effective Anti-Violence in Families) child witness program for you and your children.
  • Ask to speak to our Legal Advocate who meets with women in the shelter or in the community.

 How you can help:

Imagine you had to leave your home with nothing but the clothes on your back - what would you need and/or miss the most?

  • Inasmuch House is in continuous need of any monetary donations, non-perishable foods, diapers, bus tickets and new or used clothing and household item donations.
  • Volunteer your time.  We often have volunteer opportunities available.  If you are female and 18 years of age or older you can apply by contacting the Coordinator of Volunteers for Mission Services at 905-528-4211. To see what volunteer opportunities are available, click here.
  • Invite us to educate your group/class on the issues of abuse, domestic violence and date rape.
